Chicken Wings: Chipotle or Honey Garlic
These fast and delicious chicken wings are great for an outdoor grill. They’re even great for a cookout while camping.
To give your crew a choice of taste sensation, Chef Simon offers 2 chicken wing marinades – Chipotle and Honey Garlic. As always with Allergic Living, the pair are free of top allergens and gluten.
If you are going camping, just purée the canned chipotle peppers at home in advance. Plus, remember to keep raw chicken well-chilled with ice packs.

Ingredients
Chicken Wings
- 3 lbs chicken wings, washed and patted dry
Chipotle Marinade
- 4 tbsp chipotle peppers from a can, puréed
- 1 small onion, minced
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp tomato paste
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- juice of 1 large orange
- pinch salt
- pinch pepper
Honey Garlic Marinade
- 1 cup (250 mL) honey
- 1 head garlic, roasted (oven roast at home; 30-40 minutes)
- 2 tbsp fresh thyme
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- pinch salt
- pinch pepper
Instructions for Chicken Wings
- Divide chicken wings into two large plastic self-locking bags
- In bowls, combine ingredients for each of the marinades and mix well.
- Pour one marinade over wings in each of the bags and seal well. Refrigerate 4-6 hours or overnight.
- Barbecue wings over hot coals for 4-6 minutes each side or until done.
- Serve with your favorite dip.
